Timberwolves rock Hawks behind Kyle Anderson triple-double
USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Anderson's triple-double helped lead the Timberwolves to a convincing road win over the Atlanta Hawks, 136-115 Monday night.

Anderson finished with 14 point, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. He scored 12 of his 14 points in the third quarter and secured his 10th rebound with under 30 seconds left in the game.

Minnesota opened an 11-point lead with a 40-point first quarter and turned that into a 24-point lead at the half. Atlanta chipped away at times but never came within serious striking distance and Minnesota coasted to a key win as they play for position in the Western Conference playoff race.

With Dallas's loss Monday night to Memphis, the Timberwolves sit in seventh place, just a half-game behind sixth-place Golden State. The Warriors play late against Phoenix Monday night, and if the Suns win the Wolves will be tied with the Warriors and just a half-game behind the Clippers for fifth entering play Wednesday.

Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 32 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Jaden McDaniels had 19 points, Mike Conley scored 21 and Rudy Gobert finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks.

Minnesota also got 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting from Luka Garza off the bench, who got 18 minutes off the bench because Naz Reid missed the game with calf soreness.
