Report: Browns won't re-sign 'slipping' Kareem Hunt

Running back Kareem Hunt remains a free-agent almost a month removed from the start of free agency. It has had Browns fans wondering if the team will bring him back, but that won't be the case.

Cleveland will reportedly not be re-signing Hunt with the belief that he is "slipping" in terms of speed. He hasn't visited a single team throughout free agency, and some believe he "should be thankful" to sign a one-year deal in the $4 million range.

It may come as a surprise as Hunt has been involved in many trade conversations over the past couple of seasons while the Browns chose to keep their two-headed monster at running back intact with Hunt and Nick Chubb.

Hunt, who is 27, has rushed for 1,874 yards and 16 touchdowns in his four seasons with Cleveland and ranks as Pro Football Focus' No. 37 reaming free-agent. So, it is shocking that the Browns wouldn't even consider bringing him back on a cheap, one-year deal.

Unless the team changes its mind, Hunt will be changing cities once again. He becomes that latest example of a running back's stock plummeting in a league that seems to value the position less and less every year.
